I decided to create a Facebook page for my campaign since many members of my target audience, parents of K-8 Michigan students, use this application. I created a campaign logo with the brain to help connect the topic of mental health and used it for the Facebook page profile picture. I also created the Facebook cover image with a call-to-action statement regarding the mental health of K-8 students needing to be addressed to capture parents’ attention. I created one image that states my campaign mission and features alarming statistics about children diagnosed with anxiety and depression in the United States. I also shared two other images that were created by artists concerning children’s mental health and discussed my campaign’s goals and mission in the captions. Lastly, I created a question-and-answer option for any audience members that might want to ask questions about the topic of children’s mental health. This addition makes the page more interactive and allows me to address any questions my target audience may have.  All this content regarding children's mental health statistics and awareness classes informs more parents about the crisis occurring within the United States. By providing parents with alarming, but honest content on children’s mental health, I believe they will be more likely to get involved with the initiative.

           

For my Wix website, I decided to use primarily orange and neutral pastels to not draw attention away from the content. The home page features my campaign’s logo and images of students so viewers can immediately connect what my campaign is about. Additionally, the home page features startling statistics about children diagnosed with anxiety and depression and states how only 3 states require mental health education for students. On the mission page, I state my campaign mission and make it personal by introducing myself and my struggle with anxiety. I also added a section where people can register for my campaign newsletter or send me a message about getting involved. I believe this page helps viewers connect with the campaign’s goals and really see the positive impact that mental health awareness classes can have on children. The rest of my website features the work I have been completing throughout the semester and maintains consistent formatting throughout to ensure my website looks professional! Overall, all the things I have added to my website help ignite a viewer’s drive to make a difference in the mental health community for children.
